Air Conditioning Inspection Updates

air conditioning inspections
As qualified Energy Assessors, Inteb are able to carry out air conditioning system inspections as required by regulations within the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

These EU-wide regulations require that all air conditioning systems with an effective rated output of 12 kW must be regularly inspected by an energy assessor. The inspections must be a maximum of 5 years apart.

The first inspection of all existing systems with over 250 kW of cooling capacity should have been completed by 4th January 2009.

The first inspection of all existing systems with an effective rated output of over 12 kW must be completed by 4th January 2011.

New systems over 12 kW that have been installed since January 2008 must be inspected within 5 years of going into service.

It is the responsibility of building owners and managers who control air conditioning systems to ensure these inspections are carried out. Failure to comply will result in fines ranging from three hundred pounds to several thousand pounds, depending on the rateable value of the buildings concerned.

As well as ensuring that you comply with regulations and avoid financial penalties, air condition inspections will help you to improve energy efficiency, reduce your carbon output and ultimately save you money.

As qualified Energy Assessors, Inteb are able to carry out the above air conditioning system inspections.
